Transforming Students into Learners - Fall Institute

Given the rapid changes of the 21st century, it is no longer enough for students to leave school having learned a lot of content. Today’s students must also be able to learn, and be motivated to continue learning for the rest of their lives. This hands-on, how-to institute provides opportunities for educators to develop their classroom assessment practices in ways research has demonstrated help students become engaged in their own learning process and serve as the basis for standards-based instruction.

  • Clarifying learning targets and proficiency with students
  • Using descriptive feedback
  • engaging students in peer and self-assessment
  • Supporting student goal setting and self-progress monitoring
